Driving from Honolulu International Airport to Hale Bougainvillea
Exit Honolulu International Airport to the H1 freeway. Bear left on the access ramp and take H1 West (Waianae) for about 3.8 miles to the H3 freeway (Exit 13b Kailua - Kaneohe). (Note: Stay in the right lane on H1 and watch for the advance sign for H3, about a mile before the exit).
Continue on H3, about 12 miles, to the Kailua exit which is Mokapu Blvd. Continue down the hill, past Kalaheo High School on the left to the Oneawa St. traffic light. Turn right and continue on Oneawa to the main Kailua town intersection. Turn left on Kuulei Rd. and continue past the library and fire station on the right to Kalaheo Ave. which is the end of the road. Turn right at the traffic signal and continue on Kalaheo Ave., past Kalapawai Market (green building) on the left, then Kailua Beach Park and Buzz's Steak House on the right, just over the bridge.
Continue straight, then turn left at the four-way stop sign on Alala Rd. Pass boat ramp on the left and continue up hill towards a stone pillar monument. Continue downhill and take right fork to Aalapapa Dr. which is a one-way street. Continue for about 3/4 mile to 1365 Aalapapa Dr. The home is on the right, past A'ala Dr. just across from and overlooking Pokole Way. (See detailed map below)
Hale Bougainvillea is on the rear of the lot behind a home located on the street side. Use the driveway on the right.
